Thinkpad came yesterday. I'm VERY happy with the product so far. The machine is way snappy, the 7200 rpm drive makes a huge difference. The lappie showed up with .NET 2.0 installed which was cool but I couldn't get to IIS, it was installed but it was like it was hidden. Having no clue how make it available I had to uninstall iis and re-install, then remove anything else like all of the Symantec crap. Anywho, it's rockin now.

Well, after my last email which simply said "Please cancel my order ASAP", I finally heard from someone. Their reply was that there was a software glitch and the actual expected ship date is July 7th. That would put it within my original expected time frame so they get one more chance.

Lenovo sucks. I've spent several 30 minute plus episodes waiting for someone to pick up the customer service line and no one ever does. I found a blog and decided to post on a random entry, since they don't answer my emails either. The blog is here. On the off chance that my comment doesn't get posted on the this Lenovo blog, here's what I posted:
Thinkpad's are awesome, I love mine!! Oh wait. That's right, I ordered it on 6/16, and have spent 2 days trying to get someone at Lenovo to pick up the phone!!!
As Kebs points out above, "...Lenovo’’s business model is built on innovation, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction..."
Did I see "customer satisfaction" in there? huh. That's weird. The last time I checked, when I pay 1900 bucks for a product, the company that graciously ran my credit card for the amount would at least pick up the phone to talk to me.
Ya know why I'm posting here??? Because NOBODY AT LENOVO IS PICKING UP THE PHONE OR ANSWERING MY EMAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a first time customer, I paid my cash, and received nothing but silence... maybe instead of working on a stupid demo of how great the product is, Lenovo should work on PICKING UP THE PHONE!!!!!!!!!!
I think I'll find me some more blogs to post to...

OK. I tested out dasblag for awhile and it was pretty cool, but I was not totally amazed by it. Subtext seems a little better so I'm giving it a try. The administration tools are better in Subtext, it's just a cleaner interface, I dunno, at the end of the day they both fall short in terms of posting code. Neither of these tools offer round trip code posting, the ability to post code, have it formatted in a pretty print format, and being able to modify the code at a later date. Once it's posted it's formatted and pretty much lost, that's annoying...That said, I'll give Subtext a try and see how it goes. My next step is to transfer my dasblog content over.
