Enabling jumbo frames on the network

We provide the client with a channel on the L2 network, there is a need to enable support for jumbo frames, because it does not fit into the standard mtu. I have never worked with this, does anyone know how this functionality is configured on dlink equipment and whether there is a risk of losing communication with the equipment?

The hardware should support, on both sides, no special settings are usually required, only the option to enable / disable the mode. Logically, if you start a network card, for example, using PPPOE to jumbo mode, then all other equipment will switch automatically, if this support is present in the hardware. If not, it won't work.

In Dlink L2 commentators, support for jumbo frames is enabled by the command from the console: enable jumbo_frame, view: show jumbo_frame, but it is not present in all lines equipment.

And we must remember that jumbo frames are only applicable to gigabit wired connections. They are not used on 100Mb wired connections or any wireless connection. Obviously, in order for jumbo frames to work on the network, all devices on the path must support them.
