It is generated and sent in response to the transaction by the bank that issued the card. Usually in the nnnnnnABC format, where
- A - result of checking the address via AVS (Yes/No/X)
- B - result of checking ZIP via AVS (Yes/No/X)
- C-result of checking CVV2 (Yes/No/X)
For Russian cards, the result is likely to be of the form 123456XXY. For offline payments-just 6 digits.
