Latex on Mac OS
I'm sorry, but I've already tried everything I can and can't do. Source data: Mac OS El Capitan, fresh MacTeX, fresh Texmaker (in a fit of desperation, everything was demolished and reinstalled).
Previously, Texmaker with a sin in half compiled files with the cp1251 encoding, which I inherited from the previous laptop, after updating the axis, I stopped perceiving them, giving out the unchanged
Font T2A/cmr/m/n/10=larm1000 at 10.0pt not loadable: Metric (TFM) file not found.
In those rare and not entirely clear moments when this error does not come out on some test "Hello, world!" in utf-8, there is a problem of another kind, which I have been trying to fix for several years: when using mathematics, \it, \bf - in general, everything that somehow violates the good structure of the untouched Russian narrative-crashes already with
Font T2A/cmr/m/it/12=lati1200 at 12.0pt not loadable: Metric (TFM) file not found.
Or
Font T2A/cmr/bx/n/12=labx1200 at 12.0pt not loadable: Metric (TFM) file not found.
In fact, it was such errors that led to the poor use of Windows'. tex files.
I have cm-super fonts, I checked with folk methods.
The simplest working header, which also swears on bold and italics, has the form:
\documentclass[a4paper,12pt]{article}
\usepackage[T1, T2A]{fontenc}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
\usepackage[russian, english]{babel}
Please do not send it to tex. stackexchange, there are no Russians there, but here I have seen similar questions.

I don't know what programs (and how) you installed, but if by mactex you mean here this, then you probably need to install and mactextras
