Problems installing manjaro linux

Some time ago, I asked a question here about switching to Linux. I want to try to sit on this system as the main one, and it is taken as a replacement for win10. Immediately I want to ask you not to minusovat for "betrayal". I generally liked Windows and I was comfortable on it, but recently I wanted something simpler in terms of design and more powerful in terms of the interior. Since macos is expensive by default, the choice fell on Linux. At first I thought not to bother and go to bubuntu, as I thought this was the most popular distr. Further Googling and studying the issue, I came across Linux Manjaro KDE. I don't know if I made the right choice, so if someone has any suggestions, or good advice, I will be grateful if you unsubscribe in the comments. I write applications for android (as you can understand from the subject of my questions) and, accordingly, I am very worried about the possibility of continuing to work on Linux, too. But it seems to be (as far as I understand) manjaro like the rest distributions normally pull everything you need. If someone had the experience of switching from Windows to Linux, I will be grateful for the information.

Now the crux of the problem: since I decided to demolish Windows and install Linux as the main system, I needed to create a bootable USB flash drive for installation. I took a 32gb flash drive (maybe less is possible, I don't know) and first recorded everything using rufus. The system did not boot. Then I used the program ultraiso - the system did not boot. When trying to start an error popped up:

grub unknown file system

And then you could only enter the command. As I understand from the forums, the problem is in the versions of grub. But I didn't really understand how to fix this case. Actually two questions:

  1. Whether it is worth bothering, and to put this system as the main one, if so, how to solve this problem.
  2. What is your opinion about the chosen distribution, is it really as good as it is written about in the network, or is there something better?

I'm new to the transition plan on the other axis, so don't judge strictly :)

UPDATE

The Linux experts will probably kick me a little now. We generally have a knowledge base, and so here I want to attach a solution to this error that I had. The bottom line is that when writing Linux (I understood it anyway) to a flash drive, this window pops up:

enter a description of the image here

And you need to choose exactly the DD recording method. I selected it, recorded the flash drive and everything started normally. Who is interested which PC . Maybe my answer will be useful to someone. I found the solution on this forum.

Welcome to the linux family )
1. In fact, almost any linux system easily adapts to the necessary tasks, so do not worry about the main version.
But still, if you are new to linux, I advise you to choose something simpler, solely due to the fact that if you encounter any difficulties, you can easily find the answer on the Internet. I have tried a lot of linux distributions and graphical shells, but still the essence is the same. After long wanderings, I still became on ubuntu on one machine, slightly adapting it to yourself, Debian and kali on the other two. These distributions initially carry most of the necessary programs and utilities, which, sometimes, makes life much easier.
2. As for disk errors, it is necessary to understand that despite the presence of additional utilities, each of the operating systems can work with both ntfs(win) and ext4 (linux), nevertheless, it is better to set the hard disk format in accordance with the intended OS. it will help you get rid of"dancing with a tambourine".
3. Grab is a universal bootloader that tells you that there are problems with the installation. Usually, they occur mainly if the metrics of the /boot partition were changed or this partition was completely deleted and no longer exists. There is a lot of information on the Internet about how to solve this problem through the console, depending on what exactly happened to you.
4. In order to install linux, I recommend you to Unetbootin. It it is light and easy to use.
5. Windows very strongly restricts the user in actions (From the category-I won't let you do it stupid little man, it will break everything) Linux also gives almost complete freedom of action, up to sudo rm-rf /* )))
Switching to linux is a very commendable thing in my subjective opinion, however, be prepared to change your approach to using the system ) Good luck!
