To use Admob is it mandatory to publish the app in official store?
I'm finishing an app that features banners coming from Admob. It was not clear (to me) if the application must be distributed in an official store (Google Play or Apple App Store), or if I can distribute by other means, such as email, website, etc.

Your application is not required to be in the Google Store for it to be monetized, however you have to sign your APK and not distribute it in debug mode. If you publish in debug mode, it is considered to be under test. According to the policies of the AdMob:
It is against AdMob's policy to click on the active ads themselves. During development and testing, use test ads. If you do not need render active ads before launch, avoid click on them. If you click on active ads, your AdMob account it could be suspended.

Note : Check the ID of the ad, if it is not entered correctly, you will not be monetized.
